
AREF Research Development Fellowship 2024 for Africans
Suitably qualified young Africans are invited to apply for the AREF Research Development Fellowship 2024 aimed at providing opportunities for talented health researchers based in Africa to improve their skills. This is a 9-month fellowship in the UK, Europe, or Africa.
The AREF Research Development Fellowship is aimed to allow successful fellows from Africa to develop their own research ideas, research skills, and capabilities, to grow their research relationships through collaboration and mentorship, and to work towards a substantial research funding proposal for 9 months in either UK, Europe or Africa.

Eligibility for the AREF Research Development Fellowship 2024 for Africans:
- Applicants must be early career researchers.
- Applicants must be research-active post-doctoral scientists and clinicians.
- Applicants must be nationals of and employed in Africa.
- Applicants must demonstrate excellent research abilities.
Method of Application for the AREF Research Development Fellowship 2024 for Africans:

Applicants must complete their application form via the application portal before the deadline and then submitted for signatures by the applicant’s sponsors and named administrative authority at both the Host Organisation and Employing Organisation. Applicants must complete their application carefully and provide the following required documents.
Required Documents:
- Letter(s) of support from the Host Sponsor(s).
- Letter of support from the Host Institutional Lead (optional)
- Letter(s) of support from the Employing Sponsor(s).
- Letter of support from the Employing Institutional Lead (optional)
- Two chosen publications to demonstrate the applicant’s career history.
- A resubmission document (for previously unsuccessful applicants only)
- A copy of the applicant’s most recently attained degree(s) certificate, usually the PhD certificate.
