World Bank’s International Corruption Hunters Alliance Blog Contest 2023

The World Bank’s International Corruption Hunters Alliance Blog Contest 2023 are offered to outstanding applicants between the ages of 18 to 28 years of age who are from Sub-Saharan Africa to submit their entries and stand a chance to partake in a sponsored trip to Forum in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

The World Bank is requesting that applicants submit a blog for the International Corruption Hunters Alliance (ICHA) Blog Contest about the subject of how youth can collaborate with their governments and civil society organizations to speak up against corruption and combat the negative effects it has on society.

Eligibility for the World Bank’s International Corruption Hunters Alliance Blog Contest 2023:

  • Applicants must be a citizen of one of the 48 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 28 on May 31, 2023.
  • Applicants must not have been a winner of previous editions.
  • Applicant’s submissions must be their original work. The World Bank Group reserves the right to test every entry with anti-plagiarism software.
  • Applicants are to submit their entries before the application deadline as late entries will be disqualified automatically.
  • Applicant’s blog post length should not exceed the following limits: 500 words in English and 650 words in French.
  • The World Bank Group reserves the right to research and verify the eligibility of any entrant.

Selection Criteria for the World Bank’s International Corruption Hunters Alliance Blog Contest 2023:

Each winning submission will be selected and evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Originality
  • The clarity in writing and presentation
  • Practicality and relevance
  • Potential impact on development.

Prize for the World Bank’s International Corruption Hunters Alliance Blog Contest 2023:

Two selected winning authors have their choice of:

  • Being sponsored to attend the World Bank Group’s International Corruption Hunter’s Alliance 2023 forum, scheduled for June 14 to 16, 2023 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire
  • Receiving a USD 500 equivalent prize. Top entries from all submissions will have an opportunity to have their blog published on the World Bank’s website.

Method of Application for the World Bank’s International Corruption Hunters Alliance Blog Contest 2023:

Interested applicants should submit their original blog entry by May 20, 2023, written in English or French, detailing their ideas about addressing corruption and the negative impacts it has on society. Applicants should also email a PDF or Word document to Daniel Nikolits, External Affairs Officer for the World Bank’s Integrity Vice Presidency: dnikolits@worldbankgroup.org.
