Application is Open for the Joint Japan/World Bank 2025/2026 Yokohama National University Scholarship. The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program offers a fully funded opportunity for international students to pursue a Master’s Degree in Infrastructure Management (IMP) at Yokohama National University (YNU).

This highly ranked program in partnership with the World Bank and funded by the Government of Japan also offers tuition fees, accommodation, flight, medical insurance, and a JPY200,000 per month allowance. The model is designed for those who represent the interests of developing countries, particularly concerning the policy of infrastructure.

The fields of study in the Master’s Degree Program in Infrastructure Management (IMP) include fields of engineering, economics management, and law. It provides students with the opportunity to find out the know-how of strategies and tools to manage strategies in the various countries participating in infrastructure development and therefore transform students into managers of structured infrastructural projects/policies.

Yokohama National University was set up in the year 1949 and in the period after its setup, the university has slowly come on the map as one of the top universities that provide the necessary manpower and eligible talent that can work to boost the growth of the core fields of practice around the globe. Eligibility;

  • Must be a national of a World Bank member country eligible for financing.
  • Dual citizens of developed countries are ineligible.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with excellent academic performance, earned at least three years before the application deadline.
  • At least three years of recent, full-time professional experience in development-related work after earning a Bachelor’s degree. Exceptions apply for applicants from the World Bank’s “Harmonized List of Fragile Situations.”
  • Must be in good health.
  • Cannot be an Executive Director, staff, or close relative of World Bank or IMF personnel.
