World Bank Group Africa Fellowship Program 2024
The Africa Region of the World Bank Group has declared the commencement of the application process for the World Bank Group Africa Fellowship Program 2024. This program is open to individuals who are citizens of Sub-Saharan Africa and are either currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program or have recently completed their Ph.D. studies.
The main focus of the World Bank Group (WBG) Africa Fellowship Program is to attract gifted and young African individuals who are in the process of finishing or have recently obtained their Ph.D. in a field that aligns with the World Bank’s scope of work. Selected fellows will be able to participate in a six-month assignment at either the World Bank Group offices in Washington D.C. or in-country offices. During this period, they will gain valuable hands-on experience.

Eligibility for the World Bank Group Africa Fellowship Program 2024:
- Applicants must be recent Ph.D. graduates (within three years of completion) or be enrolled in the last year of the Ph.D. program.
- Applicants must possess an excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
- Applicants must be in possession of strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Applicants must be under the age of 32 by the closing of the application period.
- Applicants must demonstrate strong academic and leadership potential as evident in their academic credentials.
- Selected candidates will be notified and upon acceptance, will be hired as short-term consultants for six months starting January 2024. Fellows are eligible to receive consultant fees, round-trip economy class air travel to Washington, D.C., or a WBG country office from their university or institution, and worker’s compensation insurance.
