MS International Federation McDonald Fellowships Fund Program 2024
The McDonald Fellowships are currently accepting applications, offering early-career researchers in the field of multiple sclerosis from low- and middle-income countries the opportunity to collaborate with research institutions abroad. This MS International Federation McDonald Fellowships Fund Program 2024 allows participants to either acquire specialized knowledge or contribute to collaborative research projects during their visit.
The McDonald Fellowships Fund Program entails a two-year grant, approximately £30,000 annually, designated to cover travel and living expenses, with an added GBP 2,000 yearly contribution to the hosting institution. It is anticipated that a portion of the second-year grant allocated to the hosting institution will be utilized to facilitate the candidate’s attendance at the annual ECTRIMS congress, the European Committee for Treatment and Research in MS. Eligibility for the MS International Federation McDonald Fellowships Fund Program 2024:
- Applicants must be educated to postgraduate level (at least MSc, preferably PhD/MD) in an area relevant to multiple sclerosis.
- Applicants must be citizens of a low- or middle-income country (all countries with a low, lower-middle, or upper-middle income as defined by the World Bank)
- Applicants must focus their research on an area relevant to multiple sclerosis.
Applicants must also be in one of the following situations:
- Working or studying in a low- or middle-income country (all countries with a low, lower-middle, or upper-middle income as defined by the World Bank) at the time of application.
- Working or studying in another country on a project that started within six months before application.
- Studying in another country on a Du Pré grant project supported by MSIF.
Method of Application for the MS International Federation McDonald Fellowships Fund Program 2024:
To be considered for the McDonald Fellowships, applicants are required to submit their applications via the designated application website.
- Identify your project and field of interest.
- Contact and agree on the project proposal with your host (project supervisor in a lab or clinic).
- Applicant completes all sections of the online application form.
- After Applicant submits, the Host is contacted to submit a supporting statement using the same application form.
- The applicant asks the three referees to send their reference letters to the official email before the 30 June deadline.
