VivaTech AfricaTech Awards 2023 for Innovative African startups
The VivaTech AfricaTech Awards 2023 for Innovative African startups is a collaboration between VivaTech and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) tp offer suitably qualified African startups a fully funded trip to Paris in France in its second edition. This program seeks to promote and reward African businesses with disruptive solutions in Climate tech, Health tech, and Fintech.
Despite the potential of tech entrepreneurs to provide solutions to global issues and boost economic development, startups in emerging markets often face difficulty obtaining the necessary networks and funding to expand their operations. VivaTech and IFC are offering the AfricaTech Awards to provide tech businesses in Africa with new prospects. Winning the Awards will provide the companies with exposure to industry authorities and business people, as well as to international investors, including the IFC, which is a major venture capitalist in emerging economies. The inaugural Awards, which started in 2020, had over 300 candidates.

Eligibility for the VivaTech AfricaTech Awards 2023 for Innovative African startups:
- Startups must be operating in Africa: the majority of the team is based in Africa or serving African markets
- Startups must have a solution or product addressing the African market.
- Startups must have raised a minimum of USD 200K and a maximum of USD 10M capital.
- Startups must address one of the following themes: Climate Tech, Health Tech, or FinTech.

The top 9 startups (3 in each category) will be awarded:
- Fly to Paris and attend VivaTech
- Meet key players to scale your business

- Take part in the official AfricaTech Awards ceremony
The three winners, one from each category, will be awarded:
- Climate Tech
- Health Tech
- FinTech
- Mentoring session with the founder of a unicorn company in IFC’s portfolio
The Challenges for the VivaTech AfricaTech Awards 2023 for Innovative African startups:
