Smart Energy Solutions for Africa (SESA) 2023 Call for Entrepreneurs

The Smart Energy Solutions for Africa (SESA) consortium, represented by Siemens Stiftung, is soliciting applications from small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) located in Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Tanzania for the 2nd SESA Call for Entrepreneurs 2023. The call is seeking entrepreneurs with experience in tackling energy access issues in Africa, with an emphasis on rural and off-grid communities.

The SESA project, which receives funding from the European Commission, operates in nine African nations in partnership with local and international organizations. Its goal is to experiment with and authenticate sustainable energy solutions and business models that can be duplicated and create opportunities for local economic growth.

The current call concentrates on particular technologies that SESA partners have trialed and have displayed potential for expansion by local entrepreneurs in the four countries. Eligible businesses should be involved in areas like solar irrigation technologies in rural communities, waste-to-energy solutions to enhance clean cooking, and solar cold chain technologies for both peri-urban and rural communities, among other related technical fields.
