The call for nominations for the Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize 2024 for solving the world’s water challenges has been initiated by the Singapore International Water Week. The Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize (LKYWP) 2024 is titled in honor of Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore’s founding Prime Minister, who demonstrated exceptional leadership and vision, resulting in Singapore’s ability to maintain a sustainable water supply despite its urbanization and lack of natural water resources. Since its establishment in 2008, the LKYWP has become a highly respected international award, sponsored by Temasek Foundation, for acknowledging pioneering water technologies, policies, or programs that have had a transformative impact in practical situations. The Prize has earned a reputable position in the global water community.
The list of recipients of the Prize comprises individuals who have created revolutionary breakthroughs in membrane technology and wastewater treatment, along with comprehensive water policies and management approaches that have enhanced the well-being of millions of individuals. Their accomplishments signify the apex of sustainable water solutions that have had a significant impact on cities and populations worldwide. Next year, on World Water Day, which falls on 22 March 2024, the recipient of the LKYWP 2024 Laureate Award will be announced. The Laureate will be honored with a gold medallion, a certificate, and a cash prize of S$300,000 at the award ceremony. The ceremony will be held during the 10th Singapore International Water Week, scheduled to take place from 18 to 22 June 2024 in Singapore.

Nomination Process for the Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize 2024 for solving the world’s water challenges:
- The LKYWP 2024 welcomes nominations for potential candidates from a diverse range of individuals and organizations, including leaders of international water companies and water utilities, distinguished academics in water research, policy, and management, high-ranking officials from international organizations, government members, as well as renowned individuals in the water sector.

- Nominees who make it to the shortlist will be informed and requested to provide supporting documentation for a comprehensive evaluation by the Water Prize Nominating Committee. The committee will carefully scrutinize all shortlisted nominations and present their recommendations to the Water Prize Council, which will ultimately determine the recipient of the LKYWP 2024 Laureate Award.
