The International Atomic energy Agency often shortened as IAEA are keen to empower women all over the globe and today they gushes out their application for applicants who wish to join their latest going Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme 2023.

The fellowship program is a fully funded scheme and valued at about €20,000 which covers the full tuition fee, and another €20,000 for living expenses. Thus making it one of the most competitive masters degree study program for international students. The program is named after pioneer physicist and twice Nobel Prize laureate Marie Sklodowska-Curie and aims to inspire and encourage young women to pursue a career in the nuclear field, by providing highly motivated female students with scholarships for Master’s programmes and an opportunity to pursue an internship facilitated by the IAEA.

Each successful applicant will receive a scholarship for Master’s programmes in nuclear related studies at accredited universities. They are also provided with an opportunity to pursue an internship facilitated by the IAEA for up to 12 months. Scholarships are awarded annually, with 150 female students selected per year depending on the availability of funds. Consideration is given to field of study, and geographic and linguistic diversity.

Requirements and eligibility criteria for the 2023 IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme;

The IAEA MSCFP is open to students from IAEA Member States who meet the following entry requirements:

  • Female candidates;
  • Accepted by or enrolled in an accredited university in Master’s programme in a nuclear related field.

Preference will be given to applicants with above average academic credentials (75% or above or GPA > 3.0 out of 4.0)

Application Procedures for the IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme 2023 (How To Apply):

Interested applicants who meets the above requirements and eligibility criteria are expected to submit their application using the Online Application Form on or before the deadline, and must deliver the below supporting documents.

Document requirements:

  • Copy of the Passport/National ID
  • Official acceptance/admission letter from university into the Master’s programme indicating the nuclear related field of study and duration of the programme.
  • Statement of tuition fees/confirmation of tuition costs.
  • Completed reference forms sent directly to MSCFP@iaea.org by two referees.

NOTE: All application documents must be submitted in English using the MSCFP online application form. If documents are submitted in original language please also include official translation in English. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Selection process

Applications are assessed by the IAEA MSCFP Technical Selection Committee against MSCFP selection criteria including the applicant’s entry requirements, educational background and prior achievements, motivation and impact of the fellowship on the applicant’s career goals and commitment to public service. Consideration is given to geographic, field of study and linguistic diversity.

All applicants will be notified of the decision by e-mail.

The selected applicants will receive an offer and will be requested to confirm the acceptance of the fellowship within one week. The offer will provide information on the award details, including payment modality, the expected commitment, as well as administrative requirements and arrangements.
