Graduate Research Scholarships 2024 at University of Melbourne
Suitably qualified domestic and international students who desire to pursue a master’s or PhD research program at the University of Melbourne, Australia for the 2024/2025 academic session are invited to apply for its fully funded Graduate Research Scholarships 2024 which aims to support about 600 students in their research work financially.
This Graduate Research scholarship is available to high-achieving domestic and international students studying for a Master’s Research degree or PhD degree at the university. These fully funded Master’s scholarships and PhD scholarships provide a stipend and fee offsets to domestic and international students based on their academic merit.
The University of Melbourne offers these scholarships to all study areas with the value of up to 100% fee remission and up to $135,000 to approximately 600 applicants on an annual basis. Living allowance of $37,000 per year pro rata (2024 full-time study rate) for up to two years for students undertaking a Master by Research degree or up to 3.5 years for students undertaking a doctoral degree. The living allowance may be indexed annually and includes limited paid sick, maternity, and parenting leave.

Eligibility for the Graduate Research Scholarships 2024 at University of Melbourne:
- Applicants must be domestic or international students.
- Applicants must have applied for and meet the entry requirements for a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne, or be currently enrolled in a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne.
Scholarship Benefits:
- Full fee offset for up to two years for students undertaking a Master by Research degree or up to four years for students undertaking a doctoral degree.
- Living allowance of $37,000 per year pro rata (2024 full-time study rate) for up to two years for students undertaking a Master by Research degree or up to 3.5 years for students undertaking a doctoral degree. The living allowance may be indexed annually and includes limited paid sick, maternity, and parenting leave.
- Relocation grant of $2000 for students moving from States or Territories other than Victoria or $3000 for students moving from outside Australia.
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership for international students who require a student visa to study in Australia.
- Full fee offset for up to two years for students undertaking a Master by Research degree or up to four years for students undertaking a doctoral degree.
Method of Application for the Graduate Research Scholarships 2024 at University of Melbourne:
New students who have applied for a graduate research course by the application deadline for that course will automatically be considered for the Graduate Research Scholarships.
Applicants who have accepted a graduate research course offer but deferred commencement must submit an online application form before the application deadline to be considered for a scholarship in the following year.
Applicants who are currently enrolled in a graduate research course for which they seek a scholarship must submit an online application form before the application deadline to be considered for a scholarship in the following year.
