Africa Excellence Scholarship 2024 at University of Newcastle
African students with strong academic backgrounds enrolling in any degree program of the University of Newcastle in Australia for the 2024/2025 academic session are welcome to apply for the fully funded Africa Excellence Scholarship 2024.
The Africa Excellence Scholarship aims to attract and financially sponsor high-performing international students of African origin to study a degree program at the University of Newcastle for the 2024/2025 academic session. These Undergraduate scholarships and Postgraduate scholarships recognize applicants with a strong academic background and encourage them to continue striving to be the best that they can be.
The Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit and about 100 scholarships are awarded every year. Scholarships will automatically be awarded to students who have received an offer to study in an eligible, non-quota program at the University of Newcastle.

Eligibility for the Africa Excellence Scholarship 2024 at University of Newcastle:
- Applicants must hold a passport from one of the 54 countries of Africa.
- Applicants must be commencing study in an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree program at the University (excluding ELICOS, Enabling, Non-Award, Higher Degrees by Research programs and programs delivered at offshore campuses).
- Applicants must be an International full-fee paying student.
- Applicants must be commencing in an eligible program at an Australian or Online campus as indicated in your Letter of Offer.
- Applicants must not be the beneficiary of a separate University scholarship unless prior approval for special dispensation has been obtained from the university.
- Applicants must meet all of the financial obligations of a full-fee-paying international student, including the full tuition fee and other expenses to obtain their student visa, and if eligibility for the scholarship is not maintained.
Method of Application for the Africa Excellence Scholarship 2024 at University of Newcastle:
Eligible applicants who have received an offer to study in an eligible, non-quota program at the University of Newcastle will automatically be awarded the scholarship.
Successful students will receive notification of the value of their scholarship with their Letter of Offer and should review the full terms and conditions if they do not wish to accept.
