CAS Sofia 2022/2023 Advanced Academia Fellowships for International Scholars
The CAS Sofia is inviting suitably qualified International Scholars who are non-Bulgarian citizens and have completed a Ph.D. in the fields of the humanities and the social sciences at the institution to submit applications for the 2022/2023 Advanced Academia Fellowships worth a monthly stipend of 800 Euro, accommodation and other benefits throughout the fellowship period.
The Advanced Academia Fellowships are funded by the Centre for Advanced Study Sofia (CAS Sofia) to offer international scholars funding aid to take part in its Fellowship program for fundamental research in the fields of the humanities and the social sciences. During the Fellowship period, fellows get the opportunity to take part in the intellectual life and the scholarly community of the Centre while working on their preferred projects. Fellows receive adequate material and intellectual support and can profit from the Centre’s wide international networks, international seminars- and guest-lecturer program. The Centre for Advanced Study Sofia (CAS Sofia) gives support to Fellows in all practical matters that relate to travel, residence, and research.
The Centre for Advanced Study Sofia (CAS Sofia) is an independent Institute with an international and multidisciplinary profile. Located in Sofia, Bulgaria, it promotes high-level scholarship in the social sciences and the humanities. In addition to supporting focus-group research, the institute invites international scholars to pursue their individual research projects during in-residence periods of up to five months.

Eligibility for the CAS Sofia 2022/2023 Advanced Academia Fellowships for International Scholars:
- Applicants must be non-Bulgarian citizens.
- Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in the fields of the humanities and the social sciences.
- Applicants must have international research experience and publications in peer-reviewed academic editions.
- Applicants must have a good command of the English language as the institute conducts most of its work in English.
Benefits of the CAS Sofia 2022/2023 Advanced Academia Fellowships for International Scholars:
- A monthly stipend of 800 euros to cover living expenses throughout the fellowship period.
