The AstraZeneca Young Health Programme Impact Fellowship 2023 is offered to Nationals of all non-sanctioned countries who are between the ages of 18 to 30 years of age to take part in the fellowship program which gives participants Full delegate access to the One Young World Summit 2023 in Belfast, United Kingdom, from October 2nd to 5th 2023.

This year, AstraZeneca is offering a YHP Impact Fellowship which includes development resources, networking opportunities and financial support to help the most influential young health advocates make an even bigger impact. The AstraZeneca Young Health Programme (YHP) is a global initiative to tackle the main causes of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), such as cancer, type II diabetes, heart disease, and respiratory disease, amongst young people aged 10 to 24, who are living in disadvantaged or under-resourced communities. The YHP is partnering with the Impact Fellowship to focus on reducing the risk factors for these NCDs, such as tobacco use, alcohol consumption, lack of physical activity, unhealthy diet, and exposure to air pollution. The UN Sustainable Development Goal Target 3.4 is to reduce premature deaths linked to non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by one-third by 2030, and YHP activities are helping to reach this target.

Since 2016, AstraZeneca’s Young Health Programme (YHP) has collaborated with One Young World to recognize and support young people who are trying to reduce the impact of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in their communities. Through the fellowship programme, more than 100 youth leaders have joined the One Young World Community and taken part in the annual One Young World Summit. These inspiring young leaders have the opportunity to attend the One Young World Summit 2023 in Belfast, UK, thanks to One Young World’s collaboration. They will also receive a US $10,000 grant to support a project of their eligible non-profit organisation, which is focused on delivering health promotion programmes to under-resourced and marginalised communities in low- and middle-income countries. AstraZeneca strongly believes that providing access to networks, development, and funding will help to create a worldwide health movement led by and for young people.

Eligibility for the AstraZeneca Young Health Programme Impact Fellowship 2023:

Applicants must be between the ages of 18 to 30 years of age.
Applicants must be nationals of all non-sanctioned countries.
Applicants must demonstrate a positive impact related to tackling non-communicable diseases among youth.
Applicants must have access to the internet and a device (computer, phone) that will allow them to participate in live, online Fellowship sessions.
Applicants must be founders or leaders of registered non-profit organisations that meet the criteria.
Applicants must be able to propose a 6 to 12-month project that empowers young people and focuses on tackling the five major NCD risk factors.
Selected applicants are expected to fully participate in the YHP Impact Fellowship and One Young World Summit.
