The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is pleased to announce the Alexander von Humboldt-German Chancellor Fellowship 2023 for 2023/2024, which offers generous support to highly qualified students from around the world who wish to study in a variety of programs.
This Alexander von Humboldt Foundation fellowship program is sponsored and hosted by the German Chancellor and is under the patronage of the Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. Sixty German Chancellor Fellowships are granted annually, with up to ten per country, and are available to students of all educational levels. The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation was founded through the efforts of the Federal Republic of Germany, with the Federal Foreign Office, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and other national and international backers providing funding. This foundation encourages the collaboration of exceptional scientists and scholars from Germany and other countries.

Requirements for the Alexander von Humboldt-German Chancellor Fellowship 2023:
- Applicants must work in a field such as politics, business, media, administration, society, or culture and have demonstrable initial leadership experience
- Applicants must have completed their first academic degree (Bachelor’s or comparable degree) no more than twelve years ago.
- Applicants must want to conduct an independently developed project with a host of their choice in Germany.
- Applicants must have good knowledge of English and/or German.
- Applicants must hold Brazilian, Chinese, Indian, Russian, South African, or American citizenship.

Applicants for the German Chancellor Fellowships 2023 should apply online and submit the necessary documents for consideration.
- Letter of motivation: Explain what leadership experience you already have, your drive, and what your career goals are.
- Project plan: Outline the project you have developed yourself and agreed with your intended host prior to applying.
- An extensive statement including mentoring agreement from your host in Germany
- Two letters of recommendation (not more than 12 months old) from individuals who can provide information on your professional, personal, and/or academic background.
