The Victoria University in partnership with RTPSS International are pleased to invite as well as welcome highly suitable and intelligent international and domestic students from all nations who wish to further their studies in Australia to enroll for their ongoing 2022-2023 academic session.

The scholarship program will cover a wide range of research areas and often considered as one of the most competitive postgraduate study program in the institution and will cover the full tuition fee for the study duration in the school. The programme is aimed at supporting high-quality research by assisting students with excellent academic qualifications who wish to participate in postgraduate research programs.

The motivation behind the RTPSS International and the Victoria University International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (VUIPRS) is to help superb research by helping students with amazing scholastic capabilities who wish to take an interest in postgraduate research programs in Australia. Beneficiaries of the VUIPRS get a grant of $27,600 per annum (2019 rate) which covers for living expenses for the length of the grant. Requirements and eligibility criteria for the 2022/2023 Victoria University Graduate Research Scholarships;

  • Demonstrate academic excellence and conduct research that is within an area of Health research in one of the four iHeS research programs.
  • Enrol as a full-time student (Part time awards may be available for compelling social or medical reasons)
  • Have an average final year or Honours year grade of H1 (VU standard 80% or above)
  • Have their enrolment into the proposed degree approved by the institution during scholarship ranking.
  • Meet the University’s English language proficiency requirements for enrolment in a research degree – see website: http://www.vu.edu.au/international-students/applyand-accept/entry-requirements for further details.
  • Be commencing a Master Degree (Research)or Doctoral degree in the next academic year

Application Procedures for the Victoria University Graduate Research Scholarships 2022 (How to Apply):

Interested applicants who meets the above requirements and eligibility criteria for this scholarship programme are expected to submit and application using the Application Portal on or before the deadline, and must adhere to below steps.

For Australian resident:

To apply, Select a suitable study level and click the relevant course link.

During the application, you’ll need to include:

  • academic transcripts
  • qualification certificates
  • research proposal – including supervisor’s name and priority FoR (as above)
  • 200-word personal statement (PDF, 73 KB) – include your reasons for wanting to undertake this research, and your academic path or trajectory
  • up-to-date CV including bibliographic reference of your top five publications with an ORCID ID
  • two written academic references – letters from previous lecturers or supervisors, including their titles, institutions and contact details (no template available)
  • signed Prospective Supervisor form (PDF, 64 KB)

You are required to seek in-principle support of supervision. The signed Prospective Supervisor form (PDF, 64 KB) must be uploaded in your application.

All domestic research applicants will be considered for an Australian government funded place under the Research Training Program(external link) (RTP)

For International Students:

Submit your application through Victoria University International.

As part of our admissions guidelines for all applicants, we ask that you contact a supervisor and receive an in-principle approval from that supervisor before you submit your application.

In order to submit evidence of this approval, you will need to include the ‘Prospective Supervisor’ form (PDF, 64 KB) when you first contact a supervisor.

You will also need to supply the following when you apply:

  • academic transcripts
  • qualification certificates
  • research proposal – including supervisor’s name and priority FoR (as above)
  • 200-word personal statement (PDF, 73 KB) – include your reasons for wanting to undertake this research, and your academic path or trajectory
  • up-to-date CV including bibliographic reference of your top five publications with an ORCID ID
  • two written academic references – letters from previous lecturers or supervisors, including their titles, institutions and contact details (no template available)
  • evidence of correspondence with VU registered academics – in which you seek in-principal support of supervision (include any responses).

If your application is successful, you will receive a formal Letter of Offer sent by VU International
