UONGOZI Institute 2023 Youth Leadership Competition for Africans
The UONGOZI Institute is pleased to invite suitably African youths between the ages of 18 to 25 years of age who are looking for an opportunity to share their perspectives on leadership to submit an application for the 2023 Youth Leadership Competition worth USD $2,000 and fully funded to Accra in Ghana.
The Youth Leadership Competition is an annual award organized as a component of the African Leadership Forum (ALF) to provide a space for suitably qualified African youths and the next generation of leaders in the region to contribute to important discussions on leadership and sustainable development. In each contest, African citizens between the age of 18 and 25 are asked to write about their perspectives on leadership as it relates to an essay theme tied to the ALF and is rigorously evaluated on the basis of originality, organization, creativity, appropriateness to contest theme and the use of language. The winners get the opportunity to take part in the ALF plenary session and receive their awards at a prize-giving ceremony. Applicants must respond to the following questions: If you were an African leader, how would you promote African intra-trade to unlock agricultural potential in Africa? The essay must be between 500 to 700 words in single-spaced, Arial font size 11 with page margins of 1 inch and sent as a Microsoft Word document.
The UONGOZI Institute is a public organization under the Office of the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, seeking to promote the recognition of the important role of leadership in sustainable development in Tanzania and the globe.

Eligibility for the UONGOZI Institute 2023 Youth Leadership Competition for Africans:
- Open to African youths and the next generation of leaders in Africa.
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18 to 25 years of age.
- Applicants must be willing to share their perspectives on leadership as it relates to promoting African intra-trade to unlock agricultural potential in Africa.
Prizes for the UONGOZI Institute 2023 Youth Leadership Competition for Africans:
- Up to five winners will be showcased at the ALF.
- Winners will be funded to attend the ALF Gala Dinner on 23 February 2023.
- A grand prize of USD $2,000 will be awarded to the overall winner
- UONGOZI Institute will cover travel-related costs including visa fees, air tickets, and accommodation.

Interested applicants are required to submit their entries in Microsoft Word document to the official competition portal.
