- The most compelling nominations will include a comprehensive explanation of the nominee’s accomplishments for displaced or stateless people, along with three reliable references from varied sources to attest to their character and outcomes.
Selection Criteria for the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) Nansen Refugee Award 2023:
- Applicants may be individuals, groups, or organizations.
- Applicant’s work must have a direct and positive impact on the lives of forcibly displaced or stateless people.
- Applicant’s work must relate to a major displacement situation or issue.
- Applicants must devote substantial time and effort to support forcibly displaced or stateless people, going above and beyond the call of duty and outside their expected role.
- Applicants must have the capacity to successfully implement a suitable project with the prize money for the global laureate.
- Applicants must have three strong references.
Selection Process for the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) Nansen Refugee Award 2023:
The independent Selection Committee will select the global laureate and regional winners in 2023, and the selection process will be kept confidential. No information about the status of your nomination will be given out.
