RUFORUM/Mastercard Foundation TAGDev Scholarship 2024

Suitably qualified African students looking to study a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at an eligible university for the 2024/2025 academic session are invited to apply for the fully funded RUFORUM/Mastercard Foundation TAGDev Scholarship 2024, This scholarship aims to implement a 10-year (2023-2033) agenda to contribute to Africa’s meaningful growth in the educational sector.

The RUFORUM/Mastercard Foundation TAGDev Scholarship seeks to strengthen universities and TVET institutions to better serve communities by skilling and empowering Africa’s young people and their institutions to drive the inclusive, equitable, and climate-resilient transformation of agriculture and agri-food systems. The fully funded Bachelor’s scholarship and Master’s scholarship will support young African students who are economically disadvantaged but academically competent to enable them to complete their studies.

Eligibility for the RUFORUM/Mastercard Foundation TAGDev Scholarship 2024:

Applicants must be a national of Kenya and Uganda to benefit from the national respective scholarship quota
Applicants must be a refugees residing in Uganda and Kenya to benefit from a regional quota
Applicants must come from economically disadvantaged, marginalized communities, coming from conflict and post-conflict areas.
Applicants must have less than 25 years of undergraduate and less than 30 years of master’s studies at the time of application.
Applicants must be 29 years and below for a refugee and persons with disability for undergraduate studies and 34 years and below for refugees and persons with disability for masters studies at the time of application.
Applicants should have completed secondary school and/or a diploma for a bachelor’s degree application not more than two years from the time of this call.
The applicant should meet admission criteria to eligible programs in the university of choice (Egerton University or Gulu University).
For admission into Gulu University for an undergraduate degree program one must have attained a High School Certificate (HSC) also known as Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent.
For admission into Egerton University, one must have completed the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent.
Applicants must demonstrate interest in agriculture, agribusiness, and entrepreneurship.
Applicants must demonstrate leadership qualities and commitment to the service of humanity.

Method of Application for the RUFORUM/Mastercard Foundation TAGDev Scholarship 2024:

Interested applicants are encouraged to fill out the online application and print it out to attach to their application for admission to the university of choice. The procedure for submitting the TAGDev 2.0 scholarship application through the RUFORUM Information Management System (RIMS) is as follows:

Access the RIMS Web Portal through; https://rims2.ruforum.org/
Create your account by clicking on Register Here
An email will be sent to your valid email address to activate your account. Please check the Spam or Junk for messages in case activation mail is not reflected in your inbox.
Login using your email and password you used for creating.
After successful login, the Applicant Dashboard will appear with different options.
Go to Calls – Scholarship Calls
Select the Call ID: RU/2024/TAGDev-2.0/001
Click Apply to start filling out the Application Form.
Remember to save while filling out the form by “Clicking Save Draft”
Download, print, and submit it with your application form for admission to the University of your choice.
