Macqueen Scholarship 2024 at University of Edinburgh
The University of Edinburgh is currently inviting applications from eligible and interested candidates to avail themselves of the Macqueen Scholarship 2024, designed to support postgraduate research in social work focusing on one-parent families for the 2024/2025 academic session in the UK.
The establishment of this Postgraduate scholarship is thanks to a generous contribution from The Julie-Ann Macqueen Trust. Ms. Macqueen actively contributed to raising awareness about the challenges faced by single-parent families, influencing public opinion as well as policymakers and legislators.

- Applicants must be postgraduate students.
- Applicants must enroll in a full-time postgraduate program.
- The award is made for 3 years for full-time students or 6 years pro-rata for part-time students.
Method of Application for the Macqueen Scholarship 2024 at University of Edinburgh:
Those applying for the Macqueen Scholarship at University of Edinburgh must submit two distinct applications before the specified deadline:
- Application for admission to the PhD in Social Work degree in the School of Social and Political Science (must be submitted at least 5 working days before the scholarship deadline)
- Macqueen Ph.D. Scholarship application.
Revisions or supplementary documents/information for your Ph.D. program application cannot be considered once you’ve received an offer for the program. Before that point, any updates or additional materials must be uploaded directly to your PhD application through your MyEd account.
Similarly, modifications or extra documents/information for your scholarship application cannot be accommodated after the submission of your scholarship application. Before submission, any updates or additional documents must be uploaded directly to your PhD application via your MyEd account. The scholarship system retrieves documents from there.
