The CEDITRAA International Fellowship 2023 at Goethe University Frankfurt in Germany is offered to excellent junior as well as outstanding internationally established researchers who can contribute to and complement the research project at the university for the 2023/2024 academic session. The fellowship is worth up to €3,500 to help cover the expenses.
The CEDITRAA project, a collaborative research initiative involving Goethe University Frankfurt, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, and Pan Atlantic University Lagos, is offering two international fellowships in Frankfurt for the year 2023. These fellowships, which can last up to one month, are provided by the CEDITRAA team based at Goethe University Frankfurt.

Eligibility for the CEDITRAA International Fellowship 2023 at Goethe University Frankfurt in Germany:
CEDITRAA is inviting applications from exceptional junior researchers, as well as highly accomplished internationally recognized researchers, who can enhance and supplement their research efforts, with a particular focus on the following inquiries:
- How do novelty spirals in regionally specific constellations of form, formats, and contents (1), legal frameworks (2), archives (3), and arenas of reception (4) evolve and contribute to novel cultural products in Subsaharan Africa and East Asia?
- How does digitization affect cultural production in Nigeria and South Korea? What kind of new cultural practices have evolved under digital circumstances in the cultural production fields of film, literature, and music?
- Which challenges do these processes pose for scholarship in African and Asian studies?
- Which new methods need to be developed to conduct research in area studies, and, in particular, which digital methods are suitable to enhance the development of area studies?
Benefits of the CEDITRAA International Fellowship 2023 at Goethe University Frankfurt in Germany:
During the fellowship period, the selected fellows will participate in CEDITRAA meetings and activities, deliver a public lecture, and hold a seminar to discuss their ongoing research with CEDITRAA’s postdoctoral students and doctoral candidates. Each fellowship, lasting up to one month, is supported by funding of up to €3,500, which covers all travel and related expenses.
