APN Individual Research Fellowships for Africans 2025/2026

Suitably qualified African scholars, policy analysts, and practitioners who are passionate about contributing to peace-building and research are encouraged to apply for the APN Individual Research Fellowships (IRF) 2025/2026. This fellowship is an excellent opportunity for African citizens based in the continent to conduct field-based research, analysis, and writing between June 2025 and March 2026.

The selected fellows will be required to perform two mandatory training sessions in each cycle and provide writing to the APN as well as NextGen, blogs, op-eds, podcasts, and social media. Most of the work done as part of a fellowship also provides many professional development and networking benefits. The Fellowship is for Postgraduate students.

To increase the appointment of members from historically marginalized communities and individuals, the APN IRF encourages applicants who are women, Indigenous peoples, members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer/questioning, intersex, and asexual/aro plus community, and persons with disabilities. Whether you are a researcher with a PhD or a policy maker or practitioner with a master’s degree and experience in peacebuilding this fellowship is a one-of-a-kind opportunity.
