Africa Business Heroes Competition 2023 for African Entrepreneurs
The Africa Business Heroes Competition 2023 for African Entrepreneurs seeks to recognize and empower African entrepreneurs who are creating change in their communities, addressing critical issues, and building a more sustainable and equitable economy for the future with a 1.5 Million USD prize.
This initiative attempts to be all-encompassing. Business owners from all African countries, in any industry, and of any age are welcome to apply in either English or French. To be eligible for the Africa Business Heroes Competition worth a 1.5 Million USD prize, the business must be officially registered and based in an African nation, and possess a 3-year history.

Eligibility for the Africa Business Heroes Competition 2023 for African Entrepreneurs:
- Applicants must be the founder or a co-founder.
- Applicants must be an African citizen or the direct descendant (child/grandchild) of an African citizen.
- The applicant’s company is registered, headquartered, and primarily in an African country.
- The applicant’s company has market traction and at least 3 years of revenue.
Benefits of the Africa Business Heroes Competition 2023 for African Entrepreneurs:
- Ten finalists will be chosen annually to take part in the ABH grand finale pitch competition, which will be broadcast over the internet and on television channels across the continent. Those who make it to the end will be vying for a portion of the US $1.5 million grant prize.
- As a finalist, you will be part of an exclusive group of entrepreneurs, business professionals, investors, and mentors. You will also get special training and networking opportunities to help you succeed in your business endeavors.
- The Top 10 finalists are awarded a total of $1.5 million in grants, with individual amounts ranging from $100,000 to $300,000.
- The first prize-winning participant is awarded $300,000, while the second and third prizes are given $250,000 and $150,000 respectively. The seven other finalists each receive $100,000, and an additional $100,000 is allocated for training.
- ABH provides ongoing publicity for African entrepreneurs as they progress in the competition through press releases, social media posts, and news articles. The Top 10 finalists will receive additional exposure through Africa’s Business Heroes Show, which is broadcasted in over 40 African countries.

- The finalists are provided with mentorship from well-known businesspeople, investors, and professionals during and after the competition.
- Members of the ABH community are given access to specialized training programs, including instruction in financial management, marketing strategies, IP law, and more.
