The 2023 Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme are offered to African entrepreneurs with small and large business enterprises across a number of sectors for the past 10 years now and opens for applications every January to give African entrepreneurs the opportunity to fund their projects with a non-returnable seed capital of $5,000 and a chance to be a member to Africa’s largest entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme is one of the best African-funded entrepreneurship programs launched in 2015 and has empowered over 15,847 African entrepreneurs since its inception with a  non-returnable seed capital of $5,000 and a chance to take part in twelve weeks of business management training, access to experienced mentors, and membership to Africa’s largest entrepreneurial ecosystem. A few years ago, the foundation disbursed about USD$24.75 million to 5000 African entrepreneurs across the African continent as it continues to remain one of the largest private sector responses to driving the economic recovery of African youths, women, and SMEs given the effects of the covid19 pandemic across Africa.

Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) is an African non-profit organization founded in 2010 by Tony O. Elumelu and headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria. It is a pioneer member of the Global Impact Investment Rating System (GIIRS). So far, the Foundation has empowered over 7,520 African entrepreneurs across 54 African countries. The foundation is considered as one of the leading champions of entrepreneurship in Africa with the main target of empowering women and men across the African continent, increasing economic growth, driving poverty eradication, and ensuring job creation. The foundation believes that the private sector’s role is important for Africa’s development and that the private sector must create both social and economic wealth.
