The Commonwealth Peace Prize 2025 | How to Apply
All interested persons are encouraged to apply for the Commonwealth Peace Prize 2025, an award for persons with clear experience in religious and inter-faith conflicts, social inclusion, and sustainable peace.
This prize, implemented by the Khalili Foundation in collaboration with the Commonwealth Secretariat, aims to recognize positive youth engagements in relation to interethnic/intergenerational/intercultural work for peace. Cargo connects the work of changemakers and fosters the development of additional capacity to advance the focus further on creating harmony and understanding.

The Commonwealth Peace Prize is centered on flagship, awareness, and capacity building of outstanding youth/intergenerational engagement for peace and reconciliation across the diverse cultures, religions, ethnicities,s and regions within the Commonwealth. Its role is to discuss and encourage new approaches to peacemaking as well as to encourage commonwealth countries to improve notable relations between their populations.

Eligibility;
- Must be a living Commonwealth citizen over the age of 30 with a distinguished and long-serving record in peacebuilding.
- Recognized as a respected and trusted mediator with a proven track record of resolving conflicts in Commonwealth societies.
- Has established sustainable mechanisms, institutions, or processes for dialogue that have objectively ended conflict, fostered lasting peace, or improved social cohesion.
- Demonstrates consistent promotion of Commonwealth values such as tolerance, respect, understanding, moderation, cultural diversity, and religious freedom.
- Incorporates principles of religious faith and/or the Commonwealth Charter to achieve sustainable peace, democratic societies, and inclusive development.
Nomination Requirements:
- Nominations can only be submitted by member governments through their High Commissions in London, non-resident High Commissioners, or Heads of Commonwealth Accredited Organisations.
- Must be submitted as an official letter of recommendation, including an impact biography of the candidate detailing how they meet the criteria.
Method of Application;
Eligible nominators must submit an official letter of recommendation along with the candidate’s impact biography, detailing how the individual meets the eligibility criteria.
Nominations should be sent via email and must be received no later than 23:59 GMT on 17 January 2025.
