The University of Edinburgh is pleased to extend the Nyerere Postgraduate Scholarship 2024 to international candidates applying for the MSc in Africa and International Development program, starting in the academic session 2024/2025.

The Nyerere Scholarships offer financial support for skilled Tanzanian students aspiring to emulate Nyerere’s legacy by pursuing studies at the University of Edinburgh. Thanks to the benevolent contributions from a donor, the Centre of African Studies will present a one-year Postgraduate scholarship to a student residing in Tanzania, enabling them to undertake a Masters-level program within the Centre of African Studies.

Eligibility for the Nyerere Postgraduate Scholarship 2024 at University of Edinburgh:

Applicants must be international students.
The scholarship will be awarded based on academic excellence.
Applicants must have, or expect to obtain, the equivalent of a UK first class or 2.1 Honours degree at the undergraduate level in a Humanities or Social Science subject.
Applicants must be postgraduate students.
Applicants must enroll in a full-time postgraduate program.
The award is made for 3 years for full-time students or 6 years pro-rata for part-time students.

Method of Application for the Nyerere Postgraduate Scholarship 2024 at University of Edinburgh:

To access the scholarship application system, applicants must first apply for admission to the full-time MSc African and International Development program. Please be aware that, following the submission of an admission application, it may take up to five working days to complete all system checks and grant access.

To ensure access to the scholarship application form before its deadline, please submit your MSc application at least five working days in advance.

The online scholarship application form is situated in EUCLID and can be reached through the MyEd web-based information portal.
