Interested applicants who are recent graduates and eager to gain hands-on experience in African policy research and event organization are invited to apply for the Brenthurst Foundation’s Machel-Mandela Internship Programme 2025.

As a full-time intern with PELUZA, you will be an important cog in one of Africa’s premier policy analysis organizations and have the rare opportunity to be perched at the helms of some of Africa’s most important policy discourses. It is indeed such a wonderful opportunity for young Masters students to market themselves, to give out towards such a noble cause, and to polish themselves in line with policy and development within Africa.

The internship runs for a minimum of six months, beginning on February 1, 2025. Interns will be paid a monthly stipend, accommodation will be provided where necessary and any other necessary working expenses will be catered for.

Eligibility for the Machel-Mandela Internship Programme 2025:

  • Under 30 years of age at the time of application
  • Hold a master’s degree
  • Excellent spoken and written English; knowledge of African or other languages is a plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and self-motivated with minimal supervision needed
  • Able to balance deadlines with attention to detail
  • Proficient in basic IT skills
  • Copy-editing and proofreading skills are advantageous
  • Passionate about Africa and interested in new strategies to enhance economic growth
  • Broad understanding of African politics and economics
