Chinese Government Scholarship Scheme 2024
The fully-funded Chinese Government Scholarship Scheme 2024 accepts applications from exceptional international students who aspire to pursue their master’s and Ph.D. studies at various universities in China during the 2024/2025 academic session.
This initiative, sponsored by the Chinese Government and created by the Ministry of Education (MOE) of China, is designed to assist Chinese universities in attracting exceptional full-time master’s and doctoral international students for advanced studies in China. The Master’s scholarship and Ph.D. scholarships help to pay for all the study expenses for the entire program duration.
The Chinese University Program provides a fully funded scholarship that includes tuition waiver, accommodation, stipend, and comprehensive medical insurance. This scholarship is applicable for enrollment in any university or higher education institution in China.
Under a new policy announced by the Ministry of Public Security on Wednesday, foreign students are also qualified to participate in entrepreneurial startups within Beijing’s high-tech hub, the Zhongguancun National Demonstration Zone. Additionally, they have the opportunity to apply for permanent residence.

Eligibility for the Chinese Government Scholarship Scheme 2024:
- Applicants must be non-Chinese indigenes and mentally and physically sound to proceed with postgraduate studies.
- Applicants must not be registered students in a Chinese university at the time of application, or be a graduate of a Chinese university for more than one year.
- Applicants for the master’s degree program must have obtained a bachelor’s certificate or its equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in China and must be under 35 years of age by 1st September, of the referenced year.
- Doctoral studies applicants must have obtained a master’s degree (equivalent to a master’s degree in China) and must be below the age of 40 by September 1st.
- Applicants are to note that the Master’s Degree program will take 2-3 academic years to complete while the Doctoral Degree Program will take 3-4 years to complete.
- Applicants must meet other eligibility conditions as set by universities for admission purposes.
