The 2023 US Embassy Community College Initiative Program is for suitably qualified international students looking to pursue an undergraduate degree exchange program at the college in other to build their technical skills and earn certificates in their respective fields of study. Students studying across America observed the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service by engaging in a variety of service and learning activities on campus and in the community.

The US Embassy Community College Initiative Program is an Undergraduate scholarship sponsored by the U.S. Department of State to offer opportunities to international students from other countries to develop their leadership skills, professional skills, and English language proficiency while studying at a community college in the US. Participants are recruited from underrepresented and underserved communities all over the globe. upon completion of the program, participants will return to their home country with new skills and expertise to contribute to the economic growth and development of their country.

The US Community Colleges are primarily two-year public institutions of tertiary education that offer remedial education, GEDs, high school diplomas, technical degrees and certificates, and a limited number of 4 years degrees. After graduating from a community college, some students transfer to a four-year college or university to continue their studies. Community college is tuition free for selected students in 47 states, often under the name College Promise.
