ELI Abroad Intern and Volunteer Program 2023 for Young Graduates
The ELI Abroad Medical Intern and Volunteer Program is now accepting applications from graduate-level students in medical sciences. This program offers internships and volunteer opportunities in Uganda, providing valuable hands-on experience at a general clinic or hospital in Eastern Uganda. Participants will have the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge about the challenges encountered by the country’s healthcare system.
Engage in the internship and volunteer program, where you will collaborate alongside doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals. Your assigned tasks will align with your specific skills, previous training, and educational background. Additionally, there are opportunities to contribute to public health initiatives, such as participating in educational campaigns focused on HIV/AIDS/STD prevention, hygiene practices, and nutrition.
In the ELI Abroad program, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with doctors, nurses, and medical staff. Your assigned tasks will be tailored to align with your individual skills, as well as your previous training and educational background such as:
- Gain valuable international work experience in medicine and healthcare while interning in Uganda.
- Make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of local Ugandans.
- Learn about medical issues in Uganda as you intern at a general hospital or small clinic.
- Experience all the wonderful offers of Uganda, from interesting dishes to beautiful natural attractions.
- Help educate the public on a variety of public health initiatives.

Eligibility for the ELI Abroad Intern and Volunteer Program 2023 for Young Graduates:
- Applicants must have a B.Sc in Biomedical Science, Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmaceuticals.
- Applicants must meet the English Language skill.
- Applicants must have work experience.
- Applicants must take on tasks based on their skills and previous training and/or educational background.
- Applicants must have a strong interest in the sustainability of non-profit organizations.
- Applicants must have a go-getter attitude and ability to work independently.
- Applicants must have an interest in and passion for the medicals.
- Applicants must have a willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
