The 2023 Harry Frank Guggenheim Emerging Scholar Awards is offered to outstanding graduate students and researchers in their final year of writing a doctoral dissertation to submit for a chance to submit a proposal from any of the natural and social sciences or allied disciplines that promise to increase understanding of the causes, manifestations, and control of violence and aggression with financial support worth up to $25,000.

The 2023 Emerging Scholar Awards is funded and initiated in memory of Harry Frank Guggenheim to offer an award worth up to $25,000 for one year and contribute to the support of outstanding Ph.D. students to enable the completion of a dissertation that advances the Foundation’s research interests. The award is made available to students for support during the final year of their Ph.D. studies.

Harry Frank Guggenheim born on August 23, 1890, and died on January 22, 1971, was an American businessman, diplomat, publisher, philanthropist, aviator, and horseman. The award amongst many others is funded by his foundation to raise and support future leaders to achieve career success.

Eligibility for The 2023 Harry Frank Guggenheim Emerging Scholar Awards:

• Applications are welcome from scholars from all across the globe.
• Applicants must currently be enrolled in a Ph.D. degree program at an accredited university or college.
• Applicants must have great leadership potential.
• Applicants must be Ph.D. candidates entering the dissertation stage of graduate study.
• Submissions are welcome in some disciplines, particularly experimental fields, research, and writing.
